Voice Z Digital Senior Marketing Strategist & SEO Specialist

Voice Z Digital is a student-run digital marketing Agency at the University of New Hampshire.  Associates of the Agency are exposed to experiential learning opportunities by working with real clients in the New England area to grow their businesses by performing digital marketing services.  I worked as a Senior Marketing Strategist and was the agency's SEO Specialist.  


Each year we write a blog post about a topic in digital marketing that interests us.  I have written about Responsive Designs and Podcast Advertising.

UNH IncludeU

During the Fall 2022 semester I worked with the client UNH IncludeU to construct a digital audit of their website and suggest Search Engine Optimization improvements.  The SEO work entailed using Mangools and SEMRush to perform keyword research to help boost the search result ranking of the website.  Our team looked into Google Analytics to see backlinks to their website and the organic search volume.  We each wrote blog posts to help boost their SEO and gave the client suggestions for further blog posts that will include keywords.  We made sure all pictures had alt text, meta descriptions on all pages, tap targets were correct sizes, and the website was optimized for mobile.

For the Spring 2023 semester, I have worked with the client Studio 333 to help boost her SEO.  Our team used BrightLocal, Mangools, SEMRush, and Google Business Profile to research competitors, keywords, backlinks, and organic search volume.  Already we have seen an increase in traffic to her website and an increase in visibility to her keywords.  Interior color consulting gained a visibility increase of 6.52% from the start of February to March 7th.  I created her color tip page and developed instructional videos for Laura to follow when she wants to add more.

New England Sweetwater Farm & Distillery

I worked on an Audit and an SEO package for the client New England Sweetwater Farm & Distillery.  I was the main point of contact for the client and guided my team through this project.  We used SEMRush to see what keywords NESW should be ranking for.  The main issues hurting their SEO was alt text, meta descriptions, and toxic backlinks.  We found many backlinks that were link farms and dissavowed these links so NESW would rank better in Google.  The keyword "distillery in New Hampshire" saw a visibility gain of 2.61% moving from page 13 to 3 just between April 17th and May 16th!  We set up Google Analytics so the client could start seeing their traffic patterns.  We added alt text to every picture and meta descriptions to every page.  I fully set up their Google Business Profile and gave the client advice on how to maintain their presence. 

Counseling Associates

I worked with the client Counseling Associates for a digital audit presence.  I was the main point of contact for the client.  We analyzed their social media, website, and recruiting platforms they are on.  We suggested that the client fully set up each of their Google Business Profiles and verify and claim each of them.  We suggested they move their website from a fully coded HMTL website onto a website hosting platform and gave them samples of what their website could look like to be more engaging and appealing to the users.  We further looked at alt text, meta descriptions, image sizes, mobile optimization, and suggested keywords to be ranking for.  We think it would be beneficial for there to be a blog posts page on their website as well.  I came up with a mock idea for how their website could look with our suggestions and reorganization, see below for examples.

Together NH

in the Fall of 2023, I worked on a digital audit for Together NH.  Together NH has a website hosted on WordPress, Instagram, an Facebook account.  For this audit we dove into website/SEO suggestions such as keywords, adding meta descriptions, alt text, H1/H2 tags, and image sizes.  The client wanted to learn ways to improve engaging with their target audience on their social platforms.  We suggested an array of events they could be hosting to increase attendance and best practices for Facebook.  Facebook was the main platform their target audience is on and described the importance of being really good at using Facebook.  For their keywords, they were ranking really well for words such as "nh dating" and "singles events."  However, they were missing "relationship coaching" and "matchmaker/matchmaking" which are two important aspects of their business.
